The 16’s got a deserved win Sunday vs AFC but made the game very interesting for a period of time in the second half. BFA played a solid first half and was awarded with only (1) goal. The goal was scored by a Nestor Jaramillo header when he met a good ball from Ryan Arambula from the right side after he eluded his player. The 16’s had several other very good opportunities but could not convert. Wesley Eads came on in the second and his presence was instantly felt. Wesley got onto a loose ball played down the left side and neatly lifted the bouncing ball over the keeper with the outside of his right foot from 20 yards out. BFA led 2-0 just a minute or so into the second half.
AFC gained some momentum and started to play more direct after going down 2 goals which caused the back line much trouble. AFC scored 2 goals to tie the match that seemed totally in control for BFA. With the scored tied both teams were trying to get the go ahead goal. Eads would score his second goal of the match with less than a minute to go. The goal this time came down the right side as he went around the AFC keeper and slotted the ball toward the goal from a severe angle. AFC defenders were scrambling to cover the open goal and 1 defender would have been called for a hand ball if the ball did not go in. BFA held on in stoppage time to improve to 5-1 for the year.
