11/30: BFA-2 North Meck-2

Bridge FA U16’s played division opponent North Meck (Charlotte) & walked away with a tie.  North Meck was awarded a penalty kick in stoppage time of the game where they converted to tie the match at 2-2.   It was an evenly played game but to have a penalty called in 2+ minutes of extra time is hard to swallow.  BFA opened the scoring up in the first half when Nico Rittmeyer ripped a dipping shot from 25 yards past the North Meck keeper giving him no chance.  North Meck tied the score when their left midfielder headed home a goal off a crossed ball in the second half.  BFA’s Joe Amon would give the home team the go ahead goal coming off nice work from Rittmeyer with Devin L’Amoreaux assisting on the goal.  Andrew Settlemire had a very good game for BFA covering lots of ground in midfield and creating chances for BFA in attack.

BFA goes to 2-0-1 in division play still maintaining 1st place with a lot of teams just starting to play league games.  The top 3 teams in each division advance to the playoffs in Greensboro, NC next June.  From there, the  top 8 teams advance to Nationals in California at the Home Depot Center.
